How did we get our start?

LumaKa Pets is a family-owned small business brand with our roots in a small northwestern

suburb of Chicago called Long Grove. Our family has always loved animals and wanted to find a

way to simplify their care.

How big is our pet family?

When we started, we had two Golden Retriever boys, then we adopted an Irish Setter/Golden

mix from a local shelter. We share our office with three guinea pigs and have half a dozen fish

tanks around our house!

What are our plans moving forward?

We’ve started with a few simple products and hope to add many more soon. Stay tuned!

Animals are increasingly dropped off at shelters because their caregivers cannot afford care for otherwise treatable medical conditions. After a pet owner (or vet on their behalf) applies for assistance, The Pet Fund helps fund critically needed veterinary care so families can stay together, and pets can get the care they need.
