Troubleshooting Method 1 – 2.4G Wi-Fi Compatibility
Pumpkii is designed to work with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. With a regular single router, you can usually see two IDs, 2.4G and 5G. Please connect to the 2.4G network. Most mesh routers are compatible with 2.4G, although some may require splitting the 2.4G and 5G networks.
Troubleshooting Method 2 – Restore Factory Settings
If your problem still persists, hold down the switch located on the bottom for 10 seconds until you hear the ‘restore factory setting, don’t power off’ sound prompt. This will allow you to reconnect your device again.
Troubleshooting Method 3 – Allowed Pumpkii App to Access Local Network and Other Features
In the settings, grant Pumpkii access to Local Network and Camera, and enable Wireless Data usage for WLAN and Cellular Data. If the options don’t show up, update your iOS system or reset all setting by checking Settings>General> Transfer or Reset>Reset> Reset Network Settings.
If you have reset your network settings and still have local network issues, it may be more specific wireless settings within your phone or router issues not allowing your Wifi to connect with the app. The easiest way to fix this is by changings your phone’s DNS servers to Google’s 8.8.8.8 servers. Here’s how to change your iPhone’s DNS servers:
1. From the iPhone’s home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap Wi-Fi. The available wireless networks in range of your iPhone appear.
3. Tap the connected Wi-Fi network.
4. Tap Configure DNS.
5. Tap Manual.
6. Delete the current DNS servers and enter the new DNS servers of 8.8.8.8
7. Tap Save.
More Troubleshooting Tips
– Log out and Log in: If you were able to connect to Pumpkii but have issues pairing, check to see you App is the latest version from the App Store,, log out of your Pumpkii account, and log back in.
– Place the device near the router when you first connect it.
– Ensure you don’t have any antivirus apps with VPN features like McAfee installed. Turning off the VPN won’t resolve the issue; you need to uninstall the app. Try downloading the app on another phone, iPad, or tablet to troubleshoot the problem.
– Switching from Wi-Fi to your mobile data network can help identify whether you’re encountering a network-related problem.
